“It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere.”

Agnes Repplier

Navigating emotions is key to the development and enjoyment of our lives. For students who struggle with neurodevelopmental disorders, autism spectrum disorder, executive functioning deficits, and learning issues, emotional regulation is a unique challenge. This is why Emotional Regulation is one of our Seven Stars.

Understanding Emotional Regulation

Emotional regulation involves our capacity to handle and respond to emotional experiences adaptively. It helps bring order to inner turmoil, enabling individuals to find some internal peace amid life’s storms. Upsetting this balance can lead to psychological distress and create hurdles in different areas, impacting cognitive and social functioning.

Sensory Integration and Support

Our team prioritizes individualized therapeutic modalities that emphasize sensory integration. Modalities such as art therapy, experiential therapy, and mindfulness, offer exploratory tools for engaging with and regulating emotions.
At Seven Stars, we’ve built a dedicated Sensory Room where students can explore activities that support their individual needs.

As mental health professionals, our duty goes beyond observation; we help unpack, celebrate, and facilitate emotional navigation for our students without conforming to societal norms.
