Autism School For Teens on the Spectrum
As most parents can attest, puberty is one of the most difficult periods in raising a child. In the best of situations, parents will lose some sleep but walk away with few lasting marks. In the worst, however, matters can unwind at an alarming rate. Seemingly overnight, a child can become a stranger. Where previously there was warmth and kindness, now is an icy rift. And in spite of the parents efforts, the child simply does not respond and slips farther and farther away. These are the situations where an autism school can help young people and their families achieve lasting success.
Seven Stars, a therapeutic program helping teens on the Autism spectrum, can help your teen find academic success and come out of their shell in social situations.
As an autism school, we know that there is no set mold for what a child should be. Typically, programs focus on children as a collection of symptoms that must be suppressed. Once that goal is achieved, the child can return home but the underlying issues remain untouched. As a result, there is no true progress for families.
Seven Stars is truly unique. At Seven Stars, every child has their own personality, background, and issues. Rather than attempting to simplify the problem in the hopes that itll go away, Seven Stars explores every facet of a childs struggles in order to truly help families begin their healing journey.
Seven Stars can help your teen achieve success
With so many options available, finding a suitable autism school for your teen can be difficult. Seven Stars provides a detailed treatment plan, specially made for each teen we admit. By combining residential and outdoor activities, teens can get the best from both worlds.
Upon arrival, every teen we admit is assessed by numerous psychological, health, and academic tests. We want to get a clear picture of our patients’ abilities so we can make sure to challenge them enough to develop their potential, but not too much to overwhelm them. If a teen is traumatized or has issues with adapting to a new environment, we offer a stabilization period that can last up to two weeks. Once a student is ready for further therapy, we continue with the second phase of our treatment.
The second phase can last up to 4 months and consists of residential treatment at our autism school and adventure therapy at beautiful locations in Utah. While teens are indoors, they receive individual and group therapies and participate in the academic and social life of our autism school. This gives them an opportunity to explore their mental capacities as well as making new friends.
Why Choose Seven Stars
Our autism school combines several different types of treatment into one. At our facilities, teens on the autism spectrum will get everything they need to successfully overcome their obstacles, improve the quality of their lives, and reach their full potential. Our team is diverse and made out of experts who, together, cover every aspect of the treatment.
At Seven Stars, we believe that, when combined together, residential treatment and adventure therapy can do wonders for teens with neurodevelopmental disorders. If needed, we also have a stabilization period in case we admit traumatized or struggling teens who first need to find their emotional and mental balance before starting with our therapy.
We admit teens in our autism school, ages 13-17, and create an individual program for each of them, challenging them academically and socially in order to get the best from them. We encourage families from all over the country to visit our facilities and see for themselves if our environment would benefit their child.
