“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.” – Gautama Buddha

When our students arrive at Seven Stars, they enter a period of self-improvement. Our staff help wherever they can to support students in overcoming obstacles in their lives. Through team collaboration and direct communication with each student, we build personalized plans to help each individual problem-solve in ways that work for them.

How do we make a personalized problem-solving toolkit?

When problem-solving through conflicts or obstacles, it’s important to recognize or reflect on what parts we have to play in these difficulties. Usually, conflicts and obstacles are multifaceted and there is no one person or thing causing the issue. However, it’s often the case that the only thing we can change when we run into an obstacle is ourselves: our behaviors, perceptions, and our actions moving forward.

This is why we work with our students to develop healthy accountability.

Accountability is about looking at our involvement in conflicts, and instead of blaming others or saying what others can do, owning the improvements that we can make the next time around. Accountability plays a pivotal role in personal growth by fostering self-awareness and promoting a proactive stance toward challenges.

In a community setting, particularly within spaces dedicated to learning and development like Seven Stars, accountability encourages a culture of continuous improvement and personal growth.

Accountability is key—it involves acknowledging your participation in conflicts, not as a means of self-reproach, but as a step towards owning the progress we can make. True improvement stems from self-reflection and a commitment to acting differently in the future. At Seven Stars, we are dedicated to helping our students realize this potential, providing the tools and support necessary for lasting change.
