TRAUMA FOCUSED COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY

Noun

This behavioral therapy provides assistance and treatment sessions to the children and teens along with their parents, for those who have suffered from some severe trauma or those who experience and undergo the traumatic stress after some life-changing event. It helps in re-building their confidence and correcting their emotional, behavioral and psychological health. This treatment is found to be well-supported and very effective.

TF-CBT relates to the child’s stories of the event that they have faced and provides them with an environment in which they feel safe, secure and free to share their experiences and effects that they gained from the trauma. It uses cognitive theories and tries to treat the root cause of the dilemma that the child experiences. The therapy is proven to be productive as it allows the parents to interact with their children at a deeper level and teaches them ways to cope up with their own and their child’s emotions and feelings.
