Behavioral health is defined as mental and emotional well-being. It refers to the individual struggling with mental illness also; it refers to individuals struggling with disparate emotional states. Mental illness may range from depression, personality disorder, substance abuse and other addictive behaviors. In case of emotional illness, it is more related to shifting among various emotional states.  It is quite routinely for the children and young individuals to experience various emotional states as they progress from one stage of life to another. It is quite certain for children to experience a disturbed emotional state of being and experience anxiety about going to school and adapting to a new environment and a routine. Such symptoms persist for a shorter period but if the symptoms persist for a longer duration, it is important to seek professional medical assistance. It is noteworthy to understand the fact that majority of the youth are physically, mentally and emotionally healthy having a sound behavioral health. Despite of this, one in out of four individuals in general suffer from disturbed behavioral health, which in turn affect their teenage and adolescent negatively with short and long-term psychological and emotional influences.

The physical health is defined in broader terms like absence of a disease. In comparison to physical health, the definition of mental health cannot be only restricted to merely absence of a disease. Emotional wellness is a level of mental prosperity, or a nonappearance of dysfunctional behavior. It is a mental condition of somebody who is working at a palatable level of enthusiasm. From the point of view of positive brain research or comprehensive quality, emotional wellness may incorporate an individual’s capacity to appreciate life, and make a harmony between life exercises and endeavors to accomplish mental strength. Sound mental health gives an individual the ability to navigate the hardships and complexities of life successfully thus, developing and fulfilling relationships. Furthermore, sound mental health allows an individual to realize its potential and capacities. Moreover, it also helps in maneuvering and excelling different environments they inhabit and different situations they encounter.
