Summer Camps For Teens on the Autism Spectrum From North Dakota

Is your teen on the autism spectrum struggling with social or academic challenges? The summer time might be the best time to get your teen the help they need to work through their struggles. Summer camps for teens with autism do not provide the therapeutic assistance that your child needs to break out of destructive patterns. Seven Stars is a therapeutic program which utilizes assessments, residential treatment, and adventure therapy approaches to get North Dakota teens on the Autism Spectrum back on the right track. Summer Camps For Teens With Autism North Dakota

Our program is located in Utah, but we help teens from all over the country, including North Dakota. Sending your child away from North Dakota can be helpful for their personal growth.

During their time at Seven Stars, students spend several days on campus in a community environment and then switch to adventure therapy off campus. This change in environment allows our therapeutic staff to continuously assess students in a variety of settings. By switching between environments, we are able to gain a well rounded view of each student. This means we can form a more accurate assessment and plan for the future.

Adventure Therapy Programming Brings Students Out Of Their Shell

At Seven Stars, three or four days out of the week students are participating in recreational activities off campus. For many of our students, participating in activities in the outdoors is not something they would do outside of our program. Many of our students would much prefer to play video games alone in their room or read comic books. Our program encourages students to step out of their comfort zone and try new things. That can be difficult for students, as many parents know. Examples of activities students may take part in include:

  • Mountain biking
  • Hiking
  • Rock climbing
  • Backpacking
  • Kayaking
  • Canoeing

Seven Stars Helps Teens From North Dakota Achieve Success: An Alternative to Autism Summer Camps

Seven Stars, a therapeutic program for teens ages 13-17, is a great alternative to sending your teen away to a summer camp this summer. Our program, located just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah, helps families from all over the country, including North Dakota. At Seven Stars, we can help your teen on the autism spectrum break out of their shell and learn social and academic skills. A summer camp experience does not offer the same level of dedication and care that our program provides students and their families. Summer Camps For Teens With Autism North Dakota

Here are some other reasons to choose Seven Stars this summer over a traditional summer camp experience:

  1. We can help your teen learn how to make friends. Our peer supportive environment encourages the development of lasting friendships. Many students come to us struggling to socialize with peers and family members. We are committed to helping your teen break out of their shell.
  2. We provide a plan for the future. Our assessment process provides families with a fuller picture of who their child is. After completion of our program, students will have a plan for what€™s next.
  3. Fun activities + therapeutic environment = success. Each week, students alternate between campus life and adventure therapy activities off campus. During their time on campus, each  day is structured to help teens learn new life skills. Students participate in a therapeutic classroom setting where their individual academic needs are addressed. Their time off campus consists of participation in a variety of recreational activities such as mountain biking, rock climbing, and hiking.
